azonOnto:description "The Paper Cave is a dedicated project of the exhibition pavilion for European Paper Week 2017. The Pavilion is 590cm long, 220cm wide and 250cm high. The Paper Cave is composed out of 118 layered 5 cm thick cardboard honeycomb panels laminated into pre- fabricated components. The components have suitable dimensions for transportation (120 x 250 x 90 cm). The components will be connected together in an easy way, by screwing the bracing board to the wooden battens hidden in the structure. As the entrance to the hotel’s lobby is perpendicular to the position of the pavilion, there are two entrances to the pavilion which are directed at the entrance of the hotel, welcoming visitors to experience the pavilion. Between the entrance there is specially designed reception desk made out of the same material - honeycomb panels.\\nThe Paper Cave was designed in order to show different and contradictory perception of paper. From the outside the pavilion has straight walls, where the layers of honeycomb panels are alternated with translucent Plexiglas stripes illuminated with cold blue LED light. This outer side shows in the same time ordered structure of the paper in form of stacked cardboard sheets and its plasticity. The Plexiglas stripes dissolve the LED light which is installed in between the layers of honeycomb panels. \\nThe interior of the pavilion is an organic and chaotic space, even if it is made out of 10 repetitive elements. This side of the structure refers to the natural and organic origin of paper. The enclosed space allow to experience the five senses. There are five special niches with the dimensions of 70 cm width, 50 cm depth and 100 cm height incorporated into the inner part where the five paper innovative products will be exposed. The chaotic interior with the width differing between 90 and 120 cm will affect the sense of sight, the product of cellulose noodles will refers to the sense of taste. The material itself will allow to feel it by touch. The smell of paper will be spread by the material itself as well as by the one of the exhibited product. The interior of the pavilion will be illuminated by the LED blue light. This cold light will complement and balanced the warmth of the natural color of the honeycomb panels. There will be also several speakers incorporated into the structure, from which the sound of crashed paper will be extracted. \\nCreated tension between interior and exterior of the Paper Cave refers to the high technology of paper production and low technology of the paper composition. It shows the contradiction between the machinery and natural character of their product - paper."@en ;
