The model consists of three modules connected together by feedback links.\\nThe module ALLO CATION/SELECTION is a combination of the classic input-output framework and the mechanism allowing selection among mutually substitutive inputs allocated in space. It simulates cooperation links between activities by means of the intervening opportunities model while the generalized costs are taken into account instead of distances. As effects are flows of goods and persons and spatial allocation of activities. The module POLLUTION simulates various kinds of pollution caused by some activities and losses sustained by other ones sensitive to the pollution. The module COST calculates costs of goods and services including cost of production and transportation, losses caused by pollution or cost of reduction of pollution. The sequence of modules are repeated until the equilibrium is attained.\\nThe model has to aid in testing, optimization and evaluation strategy development for the region in its social, economic, spatial, and environmental aspects. It is able to forecast evolution of socio-economic systems for alternative environmental policies and various consumption structures."@en ;
