Był twórcą chronobiologicznej i zarazem etologicznej \\\"Monachijskiej Funkcjonalnej Diagnostyki Rozwojowej\\\" dzieci od 0 do 5 lat, którą przetłumaczono na 30 języków. Na jej bazie rozwinął własną koncepcję \\\"rehabilitacji rozwojowej\\\", tzn. wczesnej diagnostyki, wczesnej multidyscyplinarnej terapii i wczesnej integracji społecznej dzieci niepełnosprawnych, aby ustrzec je przed trwałym kalectwem, bądź je zminimalizować. Zrealizował ją przez zbudowanie renomowanego Kinderzentrum München, przy udziale założonego przez siebie stowarzyszenia użyteczności publicznej \\\"Aktion Sonnenschein\\\". Na jego wzór powstała w Niemczech i poza jego granicami sieć 200 placówek, w tym także w Polsce (Kraków, Wrocław i Zabrze). Był on również \\\"ojcem\\\" pedagogiki leczniczej, opartej na elementach koncepcji E. Séguina i M. Montessori, a wykładanej na 8 europejskich uniwersytetach i stosowanej w wyżej wymienionej sieci placówek. Jego dorobek naukowy stanowi ponad 1100 wielojęzycznych publikacji w periodykach i podręcznikach, w tym w ponad 60 wydawnictwach książkowych, których był autorem i/lub redaktorem. Był promotorem 64 doktoratów. Przyznany mu wrocławski doktorat honoris causa jest dwunastym z kolei. Liczba innych godności, odznaczeń i wyróżnień, którymi został uhonorowany jest wielokrotnie wyższa."@pl ;
